How the course works — application and training
Enrolling is simple: fill in the online application or visit us in person at our office in the Aldiana shopping centre, opposite KD Semilasso. Once enrolled, you can start signing up for theory sessions and, later on, for driving lessons too.
The course includes six theory sessions (safe driving, traffic law, vehicle maintenance, first-aid training), a minimum of 34 driving lessons of 45 minutes (the legal minimum is 28). At MeGo we always drive 2 × 45 minutes back to back, so you spend more quality time behind the wheel and pick up experience faster.
How long does it take?
The standard course takes 2 to 3 months at 2–3 lessons per week. If you’re in a hurry, our intensive package MeGo All In can have you ready in 30 days — with up to 5 lessons per week. We always recommend a pace that builds lasting confidence, not time-pressure stress.

Pre-register online, then sign the binding application in person at our office. Together we plan your theory and driving schedule to fit your pace. You get immediate access to the online practice tests.

Road rules, traffic signs, safety and the principles of defensive driving — taught in English, in small groups with plenty of room for questions. First aid is covered during the theory block.
6 theory sessionsDriving lessons
You drive for 2 × 45 minutes at a time — in real traffic, on motorways, at night and in the rain. Your instructor adapts the pace to your needs and gives you their full attention.
17–20 lessons of 90 minExam and licence
Once you’re ready, we book your final exam. It has three parts — theory test, maintenance oral question and practical drive. A certified interpreter accompanies you for the first exam and the school fee for it is already included.

How much does a Category B licence cost?
At MeGo you get 17 driving lessons for CZK 32,700 already in our entry-level MeGo 17 package — more than most other driving schools offer in their basic packages. What makes up the total cost of a licence?
The total cost of getting your Category B licence isn’t just the school’s course fee. There are a few extra items to budget for:
Driving-school course
Theory, driving lessons, first-aid and exam preparation. At MeGo from 32,700 CZK — English instruction, interpreter for first exam and magistrate fee all included.
Office & exam fees
The 700 CZK fee for the first exam is included at MeGo. Repeat tests cost 100 CZK, repeat drives 400 CZK + a 500 CZK school fee. Issuing the licence costs 200 CZK.
Medical check-up
Before starting the course you need a fitness-to-drive certificate from your GP. The cost is typically 500–1,000 CZK.
How do you actually learn to drive?
You don’t learn to drive from a textbook — the real key is kilometres in real traffic. That said, the information from the book matters too: it’s how every student gets to know all the important rules of the road, the ones you simply can’t do without once you’re behind the wheel. That’s why at MeGo we combine a solid theoretical grounding with a strong focus on getting every student as many kilometres as possible, in every condition: city, motorway, night driving and bad weather.
Our instructors adapt the pace to each student individually. The goal isn’t to tick off mandatory hours — it’s for you to feel safe and confident behind the wheel. That’s why 91 % of our graduates don’t need any extra lessons after the course.

How many driving lessons will I get?
Czech law requires at least 28 driving lessons of 45 minutes for Category B. At MeGo you get a minimum of 34 lessons of 45 minutes — 6 above the legal minimum. We drive 2 × 45 minutes back to back (90 min), so you get 34–40 hours of real driving practice in total.
How long does it take to get the licence?

Do I have to speak Czech?
No. Our instructor Anna Hodgson teaches the whole course in English — theory, driving lessons, all study materials and the MeGo Playbook. A certified English interpreter attends the first exam with you (included in the course price).
What do I need to enrol?
You need a valid passport or ID and a medical-fitness certificate from your GP (500–1,000 CZK). If you live in the Czech Republic, we also ask for a residency confirmation from Czech Post. Under 18? A parent or legal guardian can enrol you — you can start the licence at 17 in the L17 programme.
Can I buy a driving licence?
Absolutely not. Buying a driving licence is a criminal offence for both buyer and seller. The only way to get a licence is to complete a driving course and pass the final exams (theory, practical drive, maintenance).
How long is one driving lesson?
One teaching hour is 45 minutes. Most schools schedule one lesson (45 min) per session. At MeGo we always drive 2 × 45 minutes back to back (90 min total), so you spend more time in real traffic and build confidence faster.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. The MeGo Instalments package splits the total into 3 × 10,900 CZK, interest-free. The total price stays the same as paying upfront. More on the Pay in instalments page.
Can I learn on an automatic?
Yes — automatic transmission is available at no extra cost for every package. If you take the exam on an automatic, your licence will be restricted to automatic-only vehicles (code 78). If you want to drive manuals too, we recommend taking the exam on a manual.
